| The family of Wilma
Esther Bruner-Thomas mourns her passing. Born January 21, 1916 at Whitehall,
Indiana to Avilo Bruner and Elizabeth Jane Chambers Bruner. Entered into
rest June 19, 2008 at Bloomington Hospital, surrounded by family. Her memory will be cherished by husband, James Thomas; children, James Thomas Jr., John W. Thomas, Jack Lee Thomas; 6 nieces and nephews, Maxine Bruner Burks and husband, Harold, Lloyd Bruner and wife, Kay, Barbara Bruner Freeman and husband, Otis, Martha Bruner Terrell and husband Joe, Janet Bruner Hamm and husband Don, Jacque Bruner Stigell. She is reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father with both parents; siblings, Catherine Bruner, Lawrence Bruner; son, Thomas Thomas; foster child, Herman Hamm. Wilma descended from the earliest settlers of Clay Township (Owen County) and was the granddaughter of Thomas Riley Bruner, Co. B, 27th Indiana Volunteer Infantry, engaged in the Battle of Gettysburg. In 1878 her mother emigrated west on the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon. Wilma was strong of faith and an ordained Baptist Minister. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Westside Pentecostal Church, 915 West Howe Street, Bloomington, with Bro. Glen Woods and Bro. Otis Freeman officiating. Friends may call upon the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow in the family plot of Rose Hill Cemetery. |
